Junior Professional Officer (JPO), Environment and Climate Finance, Rome

Sector/Unit: Office of the Director (CFID), FAO Investment Centre (CFI)

Duration: 2 years with the possibility of extension for another year. 

Please note that for participants of the FAO JPO-Programme three years of work experience are mandatory!

Aufgaben

• Collect, review/cross check and/or analyse relevant agricultural, economic, trade, market, social, environmental, nutrition/food composition and/or gender related data, statistics and information to support delivery of programme projects, products, publications and services.
• Undertake analysis, provide technical input for plans and reports and edits/ revise technical documents and/or publications.
• Participate in the development of improved tools and methodologies.
• Update databases and web pages.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary projects/ work teams.
• Participate in the development of training materials and the organization of workshops/ seminar.
• Participate in the organization, conduct and follow-up of meetings, consultations and conferences, the development/production of required materials and the provision of information and assistance to partners.

Anforderungen

Profile of qualification

Education

• Master’s degree in economics, finance, environmental sciences, natural resources management, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, ecology, biological sciences or a related field.

Experience

• Three years of relevant experience in climate finance or climate and/or environment related investments, preferably in the agriculture sectors and/or food systems or in any closely related field.

Key Competencies

• Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish.
• Knowledge and application of tools to inform and shape environmental and climate investments in the agriculture sectors and food systems.
• Demonstrated capacity to write technical reports in English.
