Head of PPA Origination (m/f/d) in Renewable Energies

  • Encavis AG (Hamburg)
  • Permanent
  • Full-time

What do we rely on at ENCAVIS? The sun. The wind. And on you.

Welcome to the world of Encavis! At Encavis, everything revolves around the power of the sun, the wind and the more than 200 people who together are helping to shape the energy system of the future. What exactly do we do? We make renewable energy economically viable. Our core business is the acquisition and operation of solar and wind parks throughout Europe. Already today, we are one of the leading group-independent electricity producers in the field of renewable energies. And we are continuing to grow. What does that mean for you? The opportunity to move, shape and change a lot. As part of a multinational team that enjoys helping the energy transition to succeed.

With your expertise in Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), you are ready to shape the strategic direction and development of our company. You will play a key role in redefining long-term energy procurement in Europe, leading the team, developing innovative solutions, and taking PPA negotiations to the next level. Your responsibilities go beyond operational tasks – you will develop the vision for our PPA strategy and ensure that it is seamlessly integrated into the company's objectives.

Your sunny outlook:

  • Leading and developing the entire PPA function. You will manage a committed team and have responsibility for Encavis’ PPA Origination.
  • Strategic responsibility and network development. You will expand the PPA network and build long-term partnerships with corporate PPA buyers and utilities.
  • Negotiating and structuring long-term PPA contracts. You will lead complex negotiations with major companies and be responsible for structuring physical and financial power supply agreements across multiple European markets.
  • Shaping corporate strategy. You will actively contribute to the further development of Encavis AG's corporate strategy, helping us maintain a leading role in the renewable energy market and understanding where to develop new generation assets based on demand.
  • Communication and corporate representation. You will be a speaker at conferences and trade fairs.
  • Optimization and scaling. You will continuously improve internal processes and develop new solutions for a long-term and sustainable energy supply for industrial customers.

We'll get wind of that soon:

  • A degree in business administration, economics, engineering, mathematics and physical sciences or a comparable field of study
  • A deep knowledge of the European energy market is a fundamental requirement: ability to understand how wholesale electricity prices are formed, what fundamental drivers can impact the markets, and to quantify pricing and risk of energy supply agreements
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in energy trading, energy sales, or energy procurement, preferably in the renewable energy sector
  • Established network with key market participants (corporates, utilities, traders, advisors)
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in leading teams and strategically developing a business area
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating PPAs, ideally with a diverse portfolio across different markets and industries
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop strategic plans and make decisions
  • A team player with high flexibility and a positive attitude, even in stressful situations
  • Excellent communication skills in English and another European language
